Use the calculator to create a first-pass funding estimate. Enter the figures supplied by the franchisor, your property and equipment assumptions, and a working-capital buffer. The result is a planning estimate, not a quote or financial recommendation.

Quick franchise cost estimate

Use figures you can trace to a source. This is a planning estimate, not a quote.

Estimated total cash requirement$0

Not financial, legal or investment advice. Verify current franchisor documents and obtain independent advice where appropriate.

How to use the estimate

Build three scenarios rather than one: a conservative case, the franchisor's expected case and a higher-cost case. The difference between them tells you how sensitive your plan is to fit-out overruns, a slower launch or higher monthly operating costs.

Do not confuse the franchise fee with the total investment

The upfront fee normally pays for the right to join the system and access initial support. The total investment can include rent deposits, construction, equipment, opening stock, licences, professional advice, recruitment, pre-opening payroll and working capital. In the United States, these categories are typically addressed in the Franchise Disclosure Document, especially Items 5, 6 and 7.

Keep a source trail

For every number you enter, note where it came from and when it was published. If the franchisor updates its disclosure or commercial terms, update your model rather than relying on a saved screenshot or an old article.

Frequently asked questions

Is the franchise fee the same as the total startup cost?

No. The franchise fee is usually only one component. Premises, equipment, inventory, professional fees and working capital can materially increase the total cash required.

How much contingency should I add?

There is no universal percentage. Use a buffer that reflects how uncertain your build-out, property and launch costs are, and test more than one scenario.
